Dr Lui Che-woo, the founder of the LUI Che Woo Prize - Prize for World Civilization, has donated RMB 250 million through the LUI Che Woo Prize to support Shanghai Jiao Tong University in the development of a science park in Zhangjiang, and to contribute to national science and technology development. The science park will be named “Lui Che Woo Science Park”.

In 2019, Dr Lui donated funds for the construction of two new blocks at the Tsinghua University Biomedical Sciences Building. The Pharmaceutical Sciences and Medical Sciences buildings are set to provide better research and teaching facilities for faculty and students, as well as support the development of medical, pharmaceutical science and other related disciplines at Tsinghua University.

Lui Prize partnered with the Teach Unlimited Foundation’s School-based Mentorship Programme to assist students who are at high risk of developing low self-esteem.This five-year initiative not only helps high school students to develop the confidence to set and achieve clear goals in life, but also assists in the training of teachers and education talent.
